creating drama with light

I always see awesome pictures with gorgeous light and I fall in love. Sun rays shining down over a tree or window lighting creating beautiful shadows. Well I'm a huge slacker (again) and at the last minute just snapped a picture of my oldest doing some research on the ipad about her class pets we kept over the holidays. I know its just another ipad picture but I ended up really liking it. It is her doing what she does. She always wants to know more about something. Thanks for looking and please follow the circle around to check out the other awesome photos. Up next is Bianca's dramatic lighting share!

humanizing a non human

This months challenge was again challenging for me. I had no clue what I was going to do then I saw my sons stuffed dog leaning against his wall. It reminded me of a picture I had taken of him ;) The fish was inspired after my kids gave our newest pet a tour and as I was looking through the pictures saw her sitting in front of the books. I knew exactly what I wanted to do before she moved to her bigger home.

Please follow the circle around to see the rest of the awesome photos! Jennifer is up next!

motion blur

This month's group challenge was to capture motion. I struggled coming up with something and thought I may just have to put up anything and then was given a great idea by a fellow group member (thanks Jennifer!!!). The kids and I had a blast! I wish I would have been able to use a slower shutter speed but my tripod wasn't a willing participant ;) Make sure to follow the circle around to see the rest of the images, Lisa is up next!

iphone photography

This month our challenge was to shoot using our cell phone. I will admit that until this challenge I was scared to use only my phone but I'm starting to become addicted. Just what I need, a camera with me at all times with editing capabilities to satisfy my photo fix at that moment. Lets just say my husband isn't as thrilled with my new found love for my iPhone camera. I didn't necessarily take amazing portraits or landscapes but I loved using it to document our daily lives. I can't wait to have some awesome shots like some of the people I've started following though! So here are two different ones. The first one is every day living, shopping, playing, zoo day, food... The second is my son getting his first set of tubes two weeks ago yesterday. We've been dealing with ear infections that just want go away so hopefully this gives him some relief. He was a MONSTER after anesthesia!!
Please follow the circle around to check out the rest of the awesome phone photography, next is Davina!

My 2 year old making an "animal choo choo". Part of the blog circle, this challenge was using shallow depth of field. There were so many things I wanted to do but didn't pick up my camera in time but I love having pictures of my kids in their element :). beautiful ugly

This months challenge: to take pictures of the not so pretty and make them interesting :)I just shot some random things, not sure that they are "beautiful" but here is my attempt to make them a bit more interesting :) When I told my husband this months challenge he said "guess you aren't using the kids" hehe, my go to subjects! Not sure the last one is "ugly" at all but I thought I would use it anyway :) Now head over to Andrea's blog and check out her awesome pictures!!
